Volkswagen bosses currently have no plans to offer a successor to the 1,001bhp Bugatti Veyron.ВP The fact that they managed such a spectacular design and a luxurious interior, combined with a 253mph top speed and a 0-62mph sprint in an astounding 2.5 seconds is a massive success in itself, so why would they want to improve on that?

With very large shoes to fill, the Renaissance concept works hard to carry the qualities of the Veyron along.ВP There isn’t a really huge change in the appearance of the supercar, only a few cosmetic changes including some Audi R8 touches and some added aggressiveness, which, let’s be honest, it probably didn’t need.ВP The tunnel-shaped space in the front of the car has been extended and now occupies the whole front of the car, and the twin vents above the cockpit have also grown making the car look very strange indeed.ВP And proving that beefier isn’t always better, the rear of the car has been given enormous wheels along with pronounced red lines coming to a point in the centre section, giving the car a higher stance on the road.ВP There probably won’t be much of a change in performance either, but maybe a bit of extra greenness.

Known as the Bugatti Renaissance Design Concept, this project builds on the current Veyron and will enhance Vicente’s portfolio to further him in his freelance designer career, stating that “These projects are personal reflections of my understanding of design as an art, science, and philosophy”.

Communication Design student, John Mark Vicente from Vancouver, British Columbia has designed the next Bugatti Veyron as part of his coursework at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design prior to graduating.
